Meet the Pioneers – Early Families of the Milton-Ulladulla District with Photographs

by Joanne Ewin

Meet the Pioneers‘, published in 1991, remains one of Milton-Ulladulla’s most detailed and useful historical resources. It covers nearly 200 of the mostly British pioneer families who arrived here from 1828 and worked so hard to build a new life in this remote coastal part of NSW. Their farms, homes, public buildings and industries have created the current-day built landscape of Milton-Ulladulla, and many of their descendants still live in the district.

Meet the Pioneers‘ is a valuable resource for those researching the history of the area and also for family historians. Although it is currently out of print but you will find copies to borrow in Shoalhaven libraries and also through the MUHS.
